LOGISTICS: Name tags, banners, pictures, bulletin board?

BANNERS, PICTURES, BULLETIN BOARDS: Norma, Nancy and Sally did a great job with name tags, banners, pictures, and bulletin boards at the last reunion. Any chance we can get you three to do that again?

COLORING WALL for kids: LeeAnn mentioned getting big paper, chalk, crayons, etc, for the kids to draw on like we did last time. Anyone want to take on that task?

SHIRTS, HATS, BUTTONS: I'm willing to help with something new: As soon as I can get them designed, there will be reunion hats, shirts (in a variety of styles), and buttons available that you can all order yourselves from Cafe Press. I'll get information emailed out and posted on the blog soon. I'll design the buttons to be name tags, too, so maybe we won't need other name tags.

LOGISTICS:Communications, photos, meal teams

COMMUNICATIONS: Doris and Karla talked about needing a communicator and runners between the house and barn. Karla said she would be willing to head that up with the aid of some nieces and nephews and cousins as runners. We could use cell phones or walkie talkies to communicate as well. Janie has a set of walkie talkies she could bring. Anyone else? Any discussion?

REUNION PHOTOS: Janie will take tons of photos as usual. Maybe Nari and I can plan for the family and big group portraits together. With all the other people carrying good digital cameras around now, I'm sure we'll have plenty of photos. It might be nice to put some into a PowerPoint and show them during the music in the barn Saturday night. Does anyone have a digital projector? Janie can bring her laptop and there will undoubtedly be a few other laptops floating around.

Kids photos are always fun. Maybe we can give a few of them shooting assignments. Janie is willing to coordinate this as well as getting information to everyone about ways to share our photos during/after the reunion. Anyone want to help with this?

COOKING AND CLEAN-UP AFTER MEALS: Doris has a list of teams from last reunion for cooking and clean-up. Should we use the same lists and let new people sign up to help where needed?

Lee Ann's reunion notes

Hi everyone,

Lee Ann shared the notes below to get the reunion planning started. It's a pretty thorough list. So, what's next?

We could use some volunteers to head up committees:
Advance prep at Hooks Point:
cleaning the barn, putting up lights, mowing, whatever Mary Jo needs help with
Food:
Lining up people to get the groceries, utensils, etc.,
Logistics: Getting stuff like grills, garbage cans, port-a-lets, tables, chairs, fans, first aid and cleaning supplies, etc.
Lodging: Helping find places for out-of-towners to stay
Entertainment:
Karaoke stuff, sound system, musicians
Games:
Lining up supplies and equipment needed

If you're willing to head up a committee let us know by adding a comment to this blog post. Volunteering to be in charge of a committee doesn't mean you have to do all the work--you're just responsible for twisting other people's arms to get them to help you. So, who wants to be first to sign up?

If you don't want to be in charge of a committee, but are willing to volunteer for some of the tasks in Lee Ann's list, let us know that, too. The reunion bloggers will figure out how to format the to-do list and volunteers in a way that we can upload to the blog and update as needed.
